What is Simparica Trio

Simparica Trio is the new, monthly, three-way defense chewable tablet developed by Zoetis to protect dogs against heartworms, intestinal parasites, fleas and ticks.

Simparica Trio is simple to give, tasty for pets, safe for puppies as young as 8 weeks and weighing at least 2.8 lbs, and effective against heartworms, fleas and FIVE types of ticks.

How it works: 

Simparica Trio has 3 main ingredients.  Sarolaner is an ectoparasiticide that is effective against fleas (kills them before they can start laying eggs) and 5 different species of ticks (most other competitors only kill 4).  Moxidectin is an antiparasitic that is effective in preventing the development of heartworms if administered monthly.  Pyrantel is an anthelmintic that is used to treat intestinal parasites such as roundworm and hookworm.  Combined into one product and given monthly, Simparica Trio gives great all-around protection for your canine companion!

Important safety information: 

Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures.  This product contains sarolaner, a member of the isoxazoline class, which has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia and seizures in dogs with or without a history of neurologic disorders.  The safe use of Simparica Trio has not been evaluated in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs.  The most frequently reported adverse reactions in clinical trials were vomiting and diarrhea.
